Bottle of Château Romfort red wine on a white background

Chateau Romfort Blaye Cote de Bordeaux - Merlot 2020

Crafted under the same stewardship and philosophy that guide Château La Bretonnière, Château Romfort reflects a commitment to authentic, expressive Bordeaux winemaking. Working with expert consultants while maintaining strong artisanal roots, the estate produces wines that balance tradition, elegance, and modern precision.

From 15 hectares of clay-sandy soils with gravel, this cuvée blends 84% Merlot with 16% Cabernet Sauvignon from 20-year-old vines. Grapes are both hand- and mechanically harvested, fully destemmed, and fermented under strict temperature control. A long maceration enhances depth and texture, while maturation in stainless steel and French oak barrels preserves freshness with subtle complexity.

The 2020 vintage shows a deep, bright color and an expressive nose of black pepper, spice, and red fruit. The palate is medium-bodied, velvety, and well balanced, with layers of ripe black and red fruits supported by supple tannins. Elegant and classic in style, this wine offers both approachability and refinement.

Excellent with roasted meats, barbecue, hearty vegetarian dishes, cheeses, or enjoyed on its own. Drink now or cellar 5–7 years.
