La Bretonniere Bordeaux Claret 2023

La Bretonniere Bordeaux Claret 2023

From a 17th-century estate owned by Stéphane Heurlier since 1992, Château La Bretonnière produces expressive wines grounded in tradition and refined through modern, artisanal winemaking. The property’s commitment to continual improvement and precise vineyard work results in wines that carry both elegance and a strong sense of place.

This Bordeaux Claret comes from 2 hectares of clay-sandy soils with gravel, planted to 15-year-old Merlot and Malbec. The 2023 blend is 70% Merlot and 30% Malbec, harvested both by hand and mechanically. Grapes undergo a 24–48 hour steep before fermentation in temperature-controlled vats, followed by five months of maturation in stainless steel and French oak barrels.

The wine shows the body of a light red and the fruit expression of a rosé — a vibrant, convivial style made for all occasions. Aromas of blackcurrant, blackberry, and raspberry lead to a well-balanced, fruit-driven palate with freshness and a long, satisfying finish. Easy to enjoy and designed for immediate pleasure.

Perfect with barbecue, charcuterie, salads, seafood, pizza, Asian cuisine, and light dishes, or simply on its own. Serve chilled at 8–10°C.
