Couvent des Jacobins Grand Cru Classe 2015
Saint-Émilion Grand Cru Classé
A historic family estate dating back to 1389, Convent des Jacobins produces elegant, terroir-driven wines from its 10.7 hectares in the heart of Saint-Émilion. The 2015 vintage blends 85% Merlot, 11% Cabernet Franc, and 4% Petit Verdot from 50-year-old vines rooted in clay-limestone soils.
Farmed with eco-dynamic practices and harvested by hand, the grapes underwent parcel-specific vinification with gentle extraction and pre-fermentation maceration. The wine was aged 12–15 months in French oak (55% new, 45% one-year-old), resulting in balance, depth, and energy.
This vintage shows ripe fruit, freshness, and silky tannins, with Merlot providing flesh and roundness while Petit Verdot and Cabernet Franc contribute backbone and complexity. A wine of structure and finesse, with excellent cellaring potential.
