Couvent des Jacobins Grand Cru Classe 2022
Saint-Émilion Grand Cru Classé
Convent des Jacobins farms 10.7 hectares in the heart of Saint-Émilion using certified organic methods. The 2022 vintage blends 82% Merlot, 14% Cabernet Franc, and 4% Petit Verdot from vines aged 8–61 years, harvested by hand with parcel-specific selection.
Vinification was gravity-based and parcel-driven, with no sulfites added. Pre-fermentation maceration and gentle extraction preserved balance and energy, while Petit Verdot underwent whole-berry vinification. The wine aged 12–15 months in French oak (45% new, 55% one-year-old) from nine different cooperages, chosen to complement the vintage’s rich fruit.
The 2022 is powerful yet refined, showing floral aromatics and black fruit, with a juicy, creamy texture from Merlot, lifted by the freshness and length of Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot. A multilayered wine that combines opulence with elegance.
